Moral Angels’ Weekly Flash 191007

Hi Hi Angels,
Is me again giving you a short recap on the activities that happened last Saturday. Well, we had our saturday activity conducted at the dining area as the common area was used to repair the wheelchairs. We had a new game designed by SK… Poh Yan and SK tied 3 hula hoops on top of the ceilings near the stage. They used twine to tie the 3 hula hoops together. The elderly then throw the balls into the hula hoops. It was quite well received but however it was tiring for Uncle Song, Ping Sing, Poh Yan, Christina, Mei Kuen and me, running around picking up the balls.

Uncle Song and Uncle Sam took turns to conduct the card games while Poh Yan played English Chess with Uncle John… As for SK, he played mahjong with the 3 ‘Tai Tais’.. whahaa.. :)

Christina, Rico and Sharon went around the home doing befriending and running errands for the elderly… As for the singing, it was ah yong who pau ka liao the whole stage as Gary went overseas to Taipei to visit the ‘Bing Lang Mei’… Hahaa.. Well, hopefully we will be expecting some Taiwan goodies from him this coming Saturday…

Annoucement

  • Moral Angels’ Weekly Flash 290907

    Hi hi angels,
Apology for the long awaited weekly flash… Last Saturday, we brought our elderly to Orchard Cineleisure for movie screening.. This was the first time we brought the ah gong ah ma for movie screening and this was the first time as well that we extended our invitation to the ah gong ah ma at Kreta Ayer. This wonderful suggestion of bringing the elderly for movie was brought up by Poh Yan and the idea of extending the invitation to the ah gong and ah ma from other home agencies was brought up by Rico…

The volunteers started arriving at moral home at around 10.30am where Fiona and Christina started pairing up the volunteers with the ah gong and ah ma… The first bus started to move off at around 11am with Uncle Song taking the lead to fetch the elderly from Kreta Ayer and me as well…hehe… There were about 20 elderly from Moral Home and 17 elderly from Kreta Ayer joining us for this event… The second bus move off at around 11.30am…

All of us reached the Orchard Cineplexes at stated time 12.45pm… The elderly were ushered to the hall 6 for the screening of 881.. The manager of the cineplexes even treated the ah gong and ah ma a sumptuous buns and chinese tea… Hey Desmond, you have yet to give me the name and address of the manager that sponsored the buns and the tea…

After the movie, the ah gong and ah ma went for a short bus tour to Geyland Serai and Chinatown to experience the atmosphere of Hari Raya Puasa as well as Lantern Festival…

The elderly were then treated a marvelicious buffet dinner at Moral Home… The food committee Sharon, Rico and SK even brought ice-cream for the ah gong and ah ma as desert…

It was an enjoyable event and the ah gong and ah ma enjoyed the show very much… Volunteers of moral angels also got the chance to shower their care and love to the elderly from other home… They also got to witness the independant of these ah gong ah ma from Kreta Ayer.. These ah gong and ah ma were simply amazing… Can you imagine a 93 year ah ma walked faster than any one of us and she was the one that lead the rest of the elderly… They were very organized and independant so basically the volunteers at the first bus didn’t have to do anything…haha… slack right…

    Appreciation Honours

The staffs and management of Cineplexes – Sincerely appreciated for their accomodating and professionalism in arranging the security guards to escort the buses and the elderly… Their staffs even escort us by allocating a few lifts to escort us in and out of the cinplexes.. and not forgetting their wonderful sponsorships on snacks for the elderly… Thank you…
